What Can Opalescence Boost Whitening do for You!

Posted by braydondentalcare on May 16, 2017 under Dental Health

With an abundance of teeth whitening products in the market, our staff at Braydon Dental Care want to tell you about some of the immediate benefits of our in-office whitening treatment – Opalescence Boost Whitening!

We are all aware of the natural process of our teeth becoming stained over time. Mainly due to coffee, tea, wine, soda, and tobacco – aging is also another factor that contributes to the discoloration of our teeth. That is why there are ample products at your local drug stores for at-home whitening kits. None of these products, however, can produce the same results as quickly and effectively as Opalescence Boost Whitening. Opalescence has been the leader in whitening for over 25 years!

Done here in our Brampton office by one of our Registered Dental Hygienists, Opalescence Boost Whitening will have you leaving Braydon Dental Care with a noticeably whiter smile within a matter of a single 1-hour appointment!

How Does Opalescence Boost Whitening Work?

Our Dental Hygienist will apply a topical barrier to cover all of the soft tissues in your mouth, isolating the teeth. This ensures only your teeth will receive whitening gel and gums are protected. The gel that is applied is a hydrogen peroxide solution that is activated by a UV light. Our Dental Hygienist will apply the gel in a series of layers, allowing each layer to rest on the tooth for approximately 15 minutes before the next layer is lathered on. It remains on the teeth while the UV light is used to enhance the stain-removal powers of the gel. Three layers will be applied and each layer will be settled with the UV light.

Some of the benefits of Opalescence Boost Whitening compared to over-the-counter whitening products in the market include:

  • Contains PF (potassium nitrate and fluoride)
  • Reduces caries susceptibility
  • Lowers sensitivity
  • Improves the micro hardness of the enamel
  • The distinct syringe-to-syringe mixing ensures freshness
  • Fast results in about an hour
  • Less time required for mild stains
  • Additional treatments may be required for difficult stains

Given these benefits, you will see your teeth whiter following the Opalescence Boost Whitening procedure. It is important to note, however, that if you wish to maintain such results, you will be required to limit the consumption of tooth-staining foods and beverages.

It is recommended to have your Dentist perform an examination of your oral health prior to any whitening treatment. That way, the Dentist can assess and recommend the best whitening product for you and your needs. It is also highly recommended to book an oral hygiene appointment to ensure your teeth are clear of any tartar and plaque, prior to the teeth whitening treatment.
